Description

Compaq is pleased to introduce the "Smart Components for Remote ROM Flash".
These new Smart Components can be used in combination with the Compaq Remote
Deployment Utility (RDU) Console for remote ROM flash. These ROM flash
components are available for Compaq Proliant and Compaq Prosignia Servers as
listed in the Supported Server Platforms section of this document. The
initial offering of these components is targeted for Microsoft Windows NT4
and Windows 2000 systems. The components will be made available to customers
through Active Update and also by the Compaq website. The delivery of this
remote flash capability is the continuation of a larger Compaq initiative
toward radically simplifying the maintenance of Compaq system
firmware/software. Products supporting other aspects of this initiative will
become available after the initial ROM flash components are made available
