The Compaq 10/100 TX PC Card UTP Controller is a full-featured Type II Fast
Ethernet and Ethernet LAN PC Card (PCMCIA), combining exceptional
performance and power conservation with support for 100Base-TX and 10Base-T
local area networks.
Features

*Ease of Use*
The Compaq 10/100 TX PC Card UTP Controller includes Plug and Play
capability for conflict-free auto-configuration and easy installation.
This controller also supports hot-swapping of multiple PC Cards,
allowing users to remove the LAN PC card, use other option cards and
immediately return to the network by reinserting the LAN PC Card without
powering down the PC. This controller ships with a quick and easy
installation routine for non-Plug and Play environments.
*Auto-Negotiation*
The Compaq 10/100 TX PC Card UTP controller senses for 10 or 100 Mbps
and half or full duplex and automatically configures to the highest
common network connection speed between the NIC and hub or switch port.
*Performance*
100Base-TX provides Fast Ethernet performance for mobile systems.
Full-duplex support for both 10Base-T and 100Base-TX environments allow
simultaneous transmission and reception of data for up to 20 Mbps and
200 Mbps aggregate bandwidth.
*Power Management*
The Compaq 10/100 TX PC Card UTP Controller includes an integrated 100
Mbps transceiver. Integrated power management reduces power consumption
during inactivity by supporting the suspend/resume function built into
most portable PCs. This function allows the machine to retain the state
of operation prior to suspending, and then be restored when the PC
resumes operation.
*Flexibility*
The Compaq 10/100 TX PC Card UTP Controller provides an easy migration
path from 10 to 100 Mbps. This controller automatically negotiates to 10
or 100 Mbps to connect at the correct network speed without
reconfiguration.

Fully tested with a comprehensive range of hardware platforms (Compaq
and non-Compaq) and network software to ensure compatibility
