_Top-of-page_ Description =========== The NC3122 Dual Port Fast Ethernet NIC provides a low cost dual port solution for workgroups to high-end servers that require redundancy and high performance. This Network Interface Controller is a high performance Ethernet LAN adapter with two fully integrated 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX LAN 82558 controllers connected on the secondary PCI bus of the 21152 PCI-to-PCI bridge. The 82558 Ethernet controller consists of both the MAC controller and the 10/100 Mbps physical layer interface. The controller also supports emerging standards for system manageability and power management, such as ACPI. The 21152 bridge chip complies fully with Revision 2.1 of the PCI Local Bus Specification and Revision 1.1 of the PCI-to-PCI Bridge Architecture Specification. The 82558 based Compaq NC3122 Dual Fast Ethernet Controller is a sophisticated 32-bit PCI component with enhanced scatter-gather bus mastering capabilities. Its true 32-bit architecture enables it to perform high-speed data transfers on the PCI bus using four DMA channels. The 82558 Compaq NC3122 Dual Fast Ethernet Controller provides full support for both half duplex and full duplex operation, as well as support for full duplex flow control on both ports.
