The CIBCI is a VAXBI to CI Dual Path Interface and provides buffered parallel to serial communications between two CI bus architecture protocols; the VAX backplane interconnect (VAXBI) bus of the VAX 8000 series host processor and the dual path computer interconnect (CI) bus. The CIBCI uses queue structures in OpenVMS VAX to transfer packet messages and blocks of data between the VAX 8000 memory and/or other nodes in the VAXcluster.
