The CIBCA is a dual port, 2 board, parallel to serial, buffered cluster interconnect(CI) adapter. The CIBCA consists of a port controller module(T1015) and a Link/Packet buffer module (T1025). It uses queue structures under OpenVMS VAX to transfer packet messages and blocks of data between VAX host memory and and/or other nodes in the VAXcluster.
