The CI780 is a high speed, serial data bus used to link two or more computer subsystems(nodes) to form a CI cluster. Data is tranferred via dual path CI serial data busses and associated SC008 Star Couplers, over TX/RX cable sets (2ea) with attached bulkhead connectors(PN: 70-18527). The CI780 consists of four modules; LINK (ILI, L0100), PACKET BUFFER (IPB, L0101) and DATA PATHS (IDP, L0102), and the SBI Interface (ISI, L0104) modules, pressed pin backplane (70-17654), H7100 power supply with H7101 -5V regulator (70-14956) and 2 each TX/RX cable sets (70-18527). . Each Node within a CI cluster connects to the CI via an interface that provides two separate signal paths. Dual paths provide a high degree of data availability between nodes. One pair of nodes can communicate over one path (path A), while the another pair of nodes communicates over the second path (path B). Features ======== Dual signal paths capable of simultanious operation 70 megabit-per second bandwidth and transfer rate Low error rates Packet-oriented data transmission Immediate acknowledgement of packet recept Contention arbitration at light loading conditions Round -robin arbitration at heavy loading conditions ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
