Compaq StorageWorksTM Data Protection Software Suite simplifies the process of obtaining data protection tools used in configuring, implementing, and
maintaining data protection strategies. By combining both storage software utilities and comprehensive information on Compaq tape backup/restore
solutions, customers can easily create a data protection strategy for their critical data. Additionally, each software suite includes a subscription service
that provides quarterly updates for each tool, allowing the customer to efficiently maintain and grow their data protection strategies as needed.

Each software utility and product information tool is provided on a separate compact disc.
All compact discs are packaged in a durable CD case for easy storage.
The Data Protection Software Suite is available worldwide through authorized Compaq distributors and resellers.
S U B S C R I P T I O N SE R V I C E
The Data Protection Software Suite includes a subscription service that provides up to three product updates for the period of one year following activation
of the service.
Activation of the subscription service can be completed via phone or the internet. Please refer to the Introduction CD for complete instructions on
activating your subscription service.
After activating the subscription service, updates to the Data Protection Software Suite will be automatically sent to the customer when released. No
further activity is required.
Updates to the Data Protection Software Suite are scheduled for release on a quarterly basis and are limited to only those tools that have been
updated.
SOFTWARE LICENSING
The Data Protection Software Suite can be used with all Compaq Tape Drives and Devices and does not require the purchasing of multiple licenses.
The customer will receive one complete Software Suite at the time of purchasing and three updates on a quarterly basis.
Additional Software Suite and product updates (subscriptions) must be purchased individually.

Compaq will replace any defective media for a period of 90 days following purchase. Please contact your authorized Compaq distributor or reseller for
replacement of defective media.
