Space Requirements Consider the following when deciding where to install your Compaq rack: I Clearance in the front of the rack should be a minimum of 25 inches for servicing. I Clearance in the back of the rack should be a minimum of 30 inches for servicing and adequate airflow. Power Requirements WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, fire, or damage to the equipment, do not overload the AC supply branch circuit that provides power to the rack. Consult the electrical authority with jurisdiction over your facility wiring and installation requirements. IMPORTANT: Because of the 100- to 120-VAC electrical rating of each power supply, some local electrical authorities may require either one 15-A circuit for each power supply or one 20-A circuit for each pair of power supplies. I The power load must be balanced between available AC supply branch circuits. I The overall system AC current load must not exceed 80 percent of the branch circuit AC current rating. I If power strips are used, the load should not exceed 80 percent of the marked electrical current rating on the power strip. The installation of the equipment must comply with local and regional electrical regulations governing the installation of information technology equipment by licensed electricians. The equipment is designed to operate in installations covered by the National Electric Code (ANSI/NFPA 70, 1993). The equipment is also designed to operate in installations covered by the code for the Protection of Electronic Computer/Data Processing Equipment (NFPA- 75, 1992).
