Server Features 1-7
Fans
ProLiant ML570 servers support redundant hot-plug system fans. If the
primary fan fails, the ProLiant ML570 server generates a system alert and
commands the secondary (or redundant) fan to function automatically. The
redundant hot-plug system fan protects the various server components from
overheating, provides rapid serviceability, and minimizes the risk of system
interruption.
I Standard: Two CPU fans and three SCSI drive fans
I Optional: Two CPU redundant fans
Power Supply
ProLiant ML570 servers support one redundant hot-plug power supply
alongside its two standard power supplies. Standard and redundant power
supplies run simultaneously under normal operating conditions. The redundant
hot-plug power supply ensures the delivery of standard electricity to the
server, provides rapid serviceability, and minimizes the risk of system
interruption.
In case of a loss of redundancy, an alert will notify the system administrator of
the failure. The failure will not cause any loss of power and the redundant unit
can be replaced without having to power down the server or save system data.
I Standard: Two hot-plug 450-W power supplies
I Optional: One hot-plug 450-W redundant power supply
NOTE: ProLiant ML570 requires two power supplies. To achieve redundancy, add one
extra hot-plug power supply for a total of three power supplies.
Hot-plug power supplies also have advanced features that ease operation:
I Auto Line Sensing capability eliminates the need for a switch to select
the appropriate line voltage.
I Power Down Manager ensures that the ProLiant ML570 server
deactivates in a manner that safeguards data and system integrity.
